[Reading] 12 Rules for Life Chpt 1

To be fair to Dr Jordan B Peterson, he didn’t just compare us to lobsters (and wren).

He was just showing us it was innate in our biological making to have status and rank, longer than we perceived that as a social ranking.

He also in a way was telling us that we can fare much better than lobsters, because lobsters are limited by their simple biological and genetic make up, but we human can choose to stand up straight with our shoulders back, and step by step, start the process of climbing up.

Yes, I have finished chapter one, which is actually much easier to read than the foreword, but packed with a lot of stuff. I have begun chapter two too. Maps Of Meaning lectures are more substantial and complex, I have only managed to watch first video in the 1996 series filmed in Harvard, would need a long time to finish the entire 13 episodes. Might even watch the 2017 series filmed in University of Toronto to see how 20 years would make it different. Interesting to see a 22 years younger version of Dr Peterson.

We as Christians , however, already have a good news. In God’s ranking, we are already “promoted”.

I no longer call you servants , because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
John 15:15 NIV

And we are also already renewed and transformed.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2Corinthians 5:17 NIV

We are already lights, what’s left for us to do, is to SHINE.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14 NIV
